Ingredients Needed For Easy Oatmeal:
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- pinch salt
- milk, as needed for desired consistency
How To Make Easy Oatmeal:
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- pinch salt
- milk as needed for desired consistency
Instructions
Stove Top Directions:
- Place one cup of water into a small sauce pan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and add the oatmeal and salt. Stir.
- Cook for about four to five minutes, stirring occasionally.
- When ready, the oats will have absorbed most of the water and should be soft.
- Remove from the heat and let stand for one minute.
- Add your desired toppings and enjoy!
Microwave Directions:
- Combine water, oats and salt in a deep microwave safe container-preferably glass-never plastic. in the microwave.
- Heat for 90 seconds, remove from microwave and stir.
- Heat again, at 30 second intervals, until most of the water has been absorbed. Stir between intervals.
- Remove from the microwave and let stand one minute.
- Add desired toppings. Enjoy!
- NOTE: Watch closely, oats can puff up and overflow. You do not want that mess in your microwave.

- Obviously do not use all of these-just a few you might like together.
