  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 12 oz water-just fill the tomato can up twice with water
  • 1/3 cup onion, diced very finely to help cook faster
  • 1/3 cup red bell pepper, diced very finely to help cook faster
  • 1/2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt
  • 1/2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • buns

Instructions For Copycat Manwich Sloppy Joes:

  1. Place ground beef in a frying pan and break up.
  2. Add onion, red bell pepper and minced garlic. 
  3. Cook and crumble cook the meat until meat has cooked though and onion and pepper are nearly tender. 
  4. Add the tomato paste, water, vinegar, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, celery salt and mustard. Stir to combine and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer until onion and red bell pepper are tender. Add more water, if needed.
  6. As the mixture finishes cooking, add more water as needed to get the desired consistency.
  7. When Sloppy Joe mixture is ready and you have the desired consistency, serve on buns.
