Ingredients Needed For Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 8 ounces mushrooms, chopped
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 6 slices provolone cheese slices
- 6 buns
Instructions For Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes:
- Place ground beef in a deep frying pan. Break up the ground beef leaving bigger pieces.
- Add the chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper and chopped mushrooms.
- Cook this mixture breaking the meat up more as you cook it but, leaving the pieces of meat bigger than crumble cooking for regular sloppy joes.
- When meat has cooked through and veggies are tender, turn heat to low while you mix the corn starch and beef broth.
- Then, add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika to the corn starch and beef broth mixture. Stir to combine.
- Add this mixture to the beef and vegetables, turn up the heat and heat through to thicken the sauce. Make sure veggies are desired tenderness.
- Turn the heat down to low and place the six slices of provolone cheese on top. Cover with a lid or a piece of aluminum foil to melt the cheese.
- Serve on buns with a salad, carrot and celery sticks, chips or anything you like.
