Ingredients Needed For Homemade Dog Bones-Dog Treats:
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oatmeal, quick oats
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp honey
How To Make Homemade Dog Treats:
- Preheat oven to 350°
- In a medium sized bowl, combine all ingredients until well combined.
- Dust the counter top with extra whole wheat flour. Roll out dough on the counter top. Use some extra whole wheat flour on the rolling pin as needed to avoid sticking.
- Cut out the treats with any cutter you like-I use a dog bone shape.
- Place cut out dough on a parchment covered baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes.
- Cool on a cooling rack.
- Store in an airtight container when the dog treats have completely cooled.
- Note: I have two sizes of dog bone cutters. This recipe makes 17 larger and 19 smaller-leaving a small amount of dough I roll into a ball and flatten before baking. Your amount will differ depending on the size of cutter.
- Note: You can also just roll this dough into balls, flatten on the baking sheet to make circular treats.
