Spaghetti Meat Sauce is a yummy homemade pasta sauce I have been eating since I was young. This is my mother’s spaghetti sauce recipe and it is delicious!

Ingredients Needed For Spaghetti Meat Sauce:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (or ground sausage or half of each) 
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 can mushrooms, drained and chopped
  • 2-8 ounce cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions For Spaghetti Meat Sauce:

  1. Crumble cook the lean ground beef (or chosen meat) with the chopped onion in a deep frying pan or deep sauce pan. 
  2. When the meat has cooked through, drain any fat. 
  3. Add the remaining ingredients to the meat mixture. Then, bring the meat mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to a simmer and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour, to get desired thickness.
  5. If sauce is too thick, add a little water. However, this is supposed to be a meaty sauce. Enjoy over your choice of pasta (we always love spaghetti or angel hair pasta).
