Ingredients Needed for Thin or Thick Pizza Crust:
Water
Yeast
Flour
Sugar
Salt
Oil
Instructions for Making Homemade Pizza Crust:
These instructions are the same for thin or thick crust.
Place warm water in a stand mixer. Sprinkle the yeast on top of the water and then, sprinkle the sugar over the top of the yeast. Let this stand for five minutes.
Next, add salt, oil and part of the flour. Mix and add more flour as needed. Stop adding flour when dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Then, mix on medium speed for five minutes. (when measuring flour: fluff flour with a spoon and then, spoon the flour into the measuring cup-level off with the edge of a knife)
Cover mixing bowl with plastic and a kitchen towel. Let the dough stand for two hours.
Then, press dough out onto your lightly greased pan-I like to use a large baking sheet.
Poke the dough all over with a fork. Bake at 450 degrees for 7 minutes-for the thin crust recipe and 10 minutes-for the thick crust recipe (see below).
Remove crust from the oven and top with desired toppings.
Bake at 450 degrees for another 15-20 minutes. Watch the pizza-you do not want it to burn. Ovens vary.
