Ingredients Needed for Cinnamon Syrup:
Butter
Sugar
Buttermilk
Karo syrup
Baking soda
Water
Vanilla
Ground cinnamon
Instructions for Cinnamon Syrup:
In a small sauce pan, melt the butter with the sugar, buttermilk, and Karo syrup. Bring the mixture to a boil-stirring continually. Once the mixture begins to boil, boil for about 2 minutes.
Remove the sauce pan from the heat and add the baking soda and water. Stir to combine. The syrup will foam a little bit-due to the baking soda and water.
Next, add the vanilla and ground cinnamon. Stir well to combine and until cinnamon is incorporated well.
Serve warm over waffles, pancakes, French toast, or German pancakes-anything you like syrup on.
