I grew up eating these Sugary Biscuit Donuts and they are the easiest way to make donuts at home! They are such a fun breakfast you’ll make again and again.
I remember on cold, Saturday mornings my mom would make these for breakfast. It was always such a fun breakfast surprise to wake up to and I loved helping her! We would cut the biscuits out together, she would fry them, and I would toss them in the sugar and place them on a plate. It is one of many fond memories I have of growing up. I like to make these now for my family too as a special breakfast treat and everyone loves them!
These Sugary Biscuit Donuts are delicious and you only need three ingredients to make these from start to finish. All you need to make these donuts are a can of biscuits, oil to fry them in, and sugar to toss them in. These are easy enough that your kids can help you too, which I know they will LOVE!
I have used both regular and jumbo biscuits in this recipe. If you use the jumbo can, you will have to cook each donut a little longer so it isn’t doughy in the middle. They will be a little darker in color but they are still delicious!
Sugary Biscuit Donuts
The easiest way to make donuts at home from a can of biscuits and some sugar.
Ingredients
- 1 can biscuits
- oil for frying
- sugar to coat the donuts
Instructions
-
Cut out the center of each biscuit. If you have a small circle cookie cutter you can use that, if not you can just use knife and cut out a circle.
-
Heat up enough oil in a pan on low heat for one biscuit to float in the oil without touching the bottom of the pan. Let the oil get hot but don't let it boil.
-
Place each biscuit in the oil and let it get a light golden brown on each side. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel to soak up excess oil.
-
Put the donut in a bowl filled with sugar and toss to coat it.
-
Enjoy!
