Are you craving something sweet and salty? We had a lot of fun making and eating these chocolate peanut butter fudge dipped pretzels.
It is a great idea to have someone make these cute Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Dipped Pretzels with you. You need to work quickly before the fudge and chocolate set up in the dipping glasses. Someone can dip, someone can melt chocolate, and someone can decorate with the sprinkles. It’s more fun to cook with other people.
This Peanut Butter Fudge recipe can be made and poured into a 9 X 9 baking dish to cut into fudge squares, too. It’s a great treat or dessert for anyone who loves peanut butter.
Notes:
If you use dipping chocolate (instead of chocolate chips), you will NOT need to add the shortening.
We decorated these pretzels for Christmas however, they would be fun for Valentines (decorated with heart sprinkles), Easter (decorated with Easter egg sprinkles or pastel sprinkles), or many other occasions.
Parchment Paper is so helpful when you need to lay these dipped pretzels down. I covered cookie sheets with parchment paper. I missed with one pretzel and placed it on the cookie sheet. It broke when I tried to lift it up.
We prefer to eat these the day we make these or the very next day because the part of the pretzels that are covered in fudge and chocolate will go a little soft. Pretzels are best when they are crispy and crunchy.

Instructions
Fudge Instructions:
-
in a medium sauce pan, bring half and half, butter, white sugar, and brown sugar to a boil. Stir constantly.
-
Boil for 7 minutes.
-
Remove from heat and stir in marshmallows, peanut butter, and vanilla until smooth.
-
Pour some fudge into a tall glass to dip pretzels in.
-
Quickly dip each pretzel in the fudge, putting more fudge in the glass as needed. (dip about half-way up the pretzel rod). Shake, spin, or tap pretzel against the glass to remove excess fudge.
-
Set each dipped pretzel rod on parchment paper to set.
Dipping Chocolate Instructions:
-
In a microwave safe bowl slowly heat 6 ounces of chocolate chips with 1/2 Tablespoon shortening. Heat in 20-30 second intervals-stirring after each time.
-
Pour melted chocolate into a glass and dip one pretzel at a time. Shake, or spin chocolate coated pretzel while still over the glass to remove excess chocolate. Next, add sprinkles as desired. Then, lay the pretzel back on the parchment paper to set. Dip the next pretzel.
-
As you run out of chocolate, heat another 6 ounces of chocolate and 1/2 Tablespoon of shortening as instructed above. Dip and decorate with sprinkles as desired until all 24 pretzels are coated or you run out of fudge or chocolate. This will depend on how far up the pretzel you dip it and how much you shake off.
-
Enjoy as soon as they are set.
