Three Cheese Italian Pasta Bake is an easy weeknight main dish. It’s cheesy and flavorful-a perfect comfort food.
Ingredients Needed for Three Cheese Italian Pasta Bake:
16 ounces pasta (I use rigatoni)
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
24 ounces spaghetti sauce
14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes, Italian Style-do not drain
15 ounces ricotta cheese
3 cups mozzarella, grated-reserve 1 cup
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 egg
1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions for Three Cheese Italian Pasta Bake:
Crumble cook ground beef and chopped onion in a deep frying pan.
Add minced garlic, spaghetti sauce, and can of diced Italian tomatoes plus the juice in the can. Bring to a boil and simmer about 4-5 minutes on low heat.
While the meat is cooking, cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain.
In a bowl, combine 3 cheeses, egg, and dried parsley until mixed well. Set aside. I use a Salad Shooter to grate the cheese-it is amazing!
Using a 9 X 13 baking dish, place 2 cups of sauce in the bottom of the dish.
Place the pasta on top of the 2 cups of sauce.
Place all of the cheese mixture on top the pasta.
Pour the remaining sauce on top of the cheese mixture.
Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Remove pasta bake from the oven, remove foil, cover with 1 cup of reserved mozzarella cheese and return to oven just to melt cheese.
