One Pan Parmesan Orzo includes delicious Orzo, asparagus, onion, and garlic. It’s mixed with butter, milk, and parmesan cheese for a delicious meatless dinner or side dish.
I love one pan dinners! I also love meatless dinners because it saves money! This One Pan Parmesan Orzo is the best of both. I love using this recipe in my dinner rotation.
Ingredients Needed for One Pan Parmesan Orzo:
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 bunch asparagus, chopped into 1 inch pieces
1/2 cup red onion, diced
6 cloves of garlic, minced
4 cup chicken broth
2 1/2 cups milk
1 Tbsp. butter
16 oz. orzo pasta
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions for One Pan Parmesan Orzo:
Heat olive oil in a pan on medium low heat. Add the asparagus and sauté until nearly tender. Transfer to a plate.
In the same pan, sauté the onion and garlic together until the onion is tender.
Place the butter in the pan and add the orzo. Cook for one minute until it is slightly toasted.
Add the chicken broth and milk. Stir to combine.
Bring mixture to a boil. Then, turn the heat down to medium low. Cover with a lid and cook for 20 minutes. Watch the heat so it doesn’t burn. Adjust as needed.
Remove the lid, and add the parmesan cheese. Put the asparagus back in the pan and stir. Add salt and pepper to taste.
