Your new favorite recipe for your weeknights is this Mongolian Beef! It tastes amazing and is really fast to put together. It seriously is so easy and the flavors do not disappoint. Please make this tonight because you are going to love it!!
Ingredients:
1 lb. steak, cut into 1/4 in cubes
1/8 cup cornstarch
1/2 Tbl. sesame oil
1/2 Tbl. olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 cup Mae Ploy Sauce
1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup brown sugar
Red pepper flakes to taste
Olive oil for cooking
Green onions and red pepper flakes for garnish
Directions:
Toss the steak in the cornstarch and refrigerate while you make the sauce.
Heat sesame and olive oil in a skillet. Add garlic and ginger. Stir in mae ploy, teriyaki sauce, water, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer and set to the side.
In another skillet, add olive oil to the bottom of the pan. I used just enough to lightly coat the bottom. Add in steak so the pieces aren’t touching and cook to desired doneness. Lay out on a plate covered with paper towel to drain the excess oil. Finish cooking the rest of the steak and repeat.
Add the steak into the sauce mixture and bring to a simmer for about 3 minutes.
Serve over rice and garnish with green onions and additional red pepper flakes.
Enjoy!
