We grew a jalapeño pepper plant and an Anaheim pepper plant this summer. It produced a lot of peppers, so we’ve been making different recipes with them. We hope you will like this sausage stuffed peppers recipe and it will become one of your go-to appetizer and snack recipes.
This year we also grew a few different bell pepper plants-even tried a purple bell pepper plant. Bell peppers will also be very good with this sausage mixture baked inside.
Ever Planted a Garden?:
If you haven’t planted a garden and tried to grow your own fruits and vegetables, it is a lot of fun. Sure, it is a lot of work, but, there is nothing like fresh fruits and vegetables from your own garden. The garden tomatoes are the best ever. I have never purchased a tomato at a grocery store and had it taste nearly as good as a homegrown tomato-nothing compares. Not only do I love going out into my own yard and picking what I need for dinner, but, I love that I know there were no chemicals placed on the plants and fruits and vegetables in my garden.
It’s fun to learn new things, this would be a great thing for anyone to know how to do. We save our seeds from the fruits and vegetables and then plant them the following spring. It makes me feel self-sufficient which is a great feeling. It’s especially great this year (2020-as I am updating this recipe) knowing what we have been dealing with. Going into stores and finding shelves bare. That is an uneasy feeling made even more uneasy if you have children to feed. Hopefully, life will get back to normal really soon.
Some Recipe Ideas and Notes: This sausage mixture will also be great in other peppers. 🌶 Stuffed peppers make a great appetizer or snack. They even make a great meal-we have even used them as a main dish with a garden salad. That’s a lot of vegetables-which is great! Also, remember to remove as many of the seeds from the jalapeño or the Anaheim peppers as you can. Unless you want more heat. If more heat is desired, leave some of the seeds in the peppers or add them to the sausage mixture. Some peppers are hotter than others. I have eaten peppers off of the same plant-one was spicy and the other was not.
