Ingredients Needed for Teriyaki Orange Pulled Pork Sandwiches:

3 pound pork loin

3 cups teriyaki sauce-a thick stir-fry sauce (use your favorite or here’s mine: Teriyaki Sauce-my teriyaki sauce makes four cups so, I use the extra cup on some stir-fry veggies and rice later in the week)

3/4 cup orange marmalade

Instructions for Teriyaki Orange Pulled Pork Sandwiches:

1. Place pork loin in the bottom of a slow cooker with a cup of water. (you can brown your pork loin in a frying pan before you place it in the slow cooker-I get lazy and just place it in the slow cooker)

2. Cover and cook the pork loin on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours-I prefer cooking on low for 8 hours. 

3. When the pork loin is ready, remove the pork loin from the slow cooker and shred the pork.

4. Drain the juices from the slow cooker and place shredded pork loin back into the slow cooker.

5. Mix teriyaki sauce and orange marmalade together and pour over pork. (If you are using our Teriyaki sauce recipe, make it 15 minutes before pork loin will be ready)

6. Stir to combine the meat and the sauce. Cover and turn slow cooker on high, if desired, and heat through.

7. Serve on rolls or buns (or over cooked rice). Enjoy!

Tips:

This recipe can be made a day in advance and refrigerated until ready to serve. Then, you can heat it on the stove top in a sauce pan or in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave, as desired. You can also place it in a slow cooker to re-heat and serve from there.

The Teriyaki Sauce is really simple to make. Then just add in the orange marmalade-The sauce can be made the day before. I use the leftover teriyaki sauce (one cup) with some rice and veggies for lunch during the week (if using our teriyaki recipe-link above).

Keep leftovers in the refrigerator for three days or freeze the leftover meat for a later date. It can be stored for three months.

Make adjustments to your preferences. You can add more marmalade or Teriyaki Sauce. Maybe you like your pulled pork heavier with sauce.

When cooking meat in a slow cooker, you can brown your meat before placing it in the slow cooker. I like to do that but, I get lazy and in a hurry. So, browning the meat gives it some extra flavor but, it doesn’t have to be done. It is your choice.

Teriyaki Orange Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork loin
  • 3 cups teriyaki sauce a thick stir-fry sauce like our Homemade Teriyaki Sauce-see above in post
  • 3/4 cup orange marmalade
  • buns or rolls for serving

Instructions

  1. Place pork loin in a slow cooker with 1 cup of water. Cook on low for 8 hours.

  2. Prepare sauce 15 minutes before pork is ready.

  3. When pork loin has cooked for 8 hours, remove it from the slow cooker and shred the pork.

  4. Drain juices from the slow cooker and place shredded pork back in the slow cooker.

  5. Pour prepared teriyaki orange sauce over the pork loin and stir to coat the meat and heat through.

  6. Serve on buns or rolls for an easy meal-hopefully with leftovers. 😊

My family likes me to make this a lot and I love that most of the ingredients are in my garden and all of the ingredients are healthy!
