This simple dish is a perfect twist on plain old macaroni and cheese. It is easy with all on hand ingredients and delicious with lots of cheesy flavor! It sure to be an instant favorite!
Ingredients Needed for Simple White Shells and Cheese:
16 oz. small shells pasta
1 stick butter
6 tablespoons flour
4 cups milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tablespoon mustard
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Instructions for Simple White Shells and Cheese:
Cook pasta according to the package directions. Add a dash of salt for flavor. Drain and set to side.
While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a medium sized saucepan. Slowly whisk in the flour. Add in milk and cream while stirring constantly.
Bring sauce to a boil. Next add in cheeses, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine and get rid of any lumps.
Add the pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.
